Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan lifegain swarm strategy piloted by Bilbo, Birthday Celebrant. Rather than aggressively pursuing Bilbo's 111-life activation—which functions primarily as an extreme late-game novelty—the deck operates as a resilient tokens-and-lifegain engine. It uses low-curve soul sisters (Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, Essence Warden) and Bilbo's passive life amplification to pad its life total, deterring aggression alongside defensive fog spells like Inkshield, Riot Control, and Respite. Mana velocity is supported by green land ramp and mana rocks, building up toward heavy midrange threats such as Avenger of Zendikar, Blossoming Bogbeast, and Moonshaker Cavalry. The deck closes games through overwhelming combat damage aided by trample and evasion. While it exhibits robust recovery through mass recursion cards like Eerie Ultimatum and Raise the Past, it lacks dedicated tutor access, relying heavily on natural card draw and board presence to achieve victory.
