Life is a Resource by CapnBluebear

Format: Commander

Commander: Mister Negative

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Mister Negative is an Orzhov life-total manipulation and drain deck. The primary line uses Tainted Remedy with Beacon of Immortality or Mister Negative's triggered exchange to make an opponent lose their entire life total. It also packs life-loss payoffs such as Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Vizkopa Guildmage, and Wound Reflection, with Tree of Perdition as a hidden commander that sets life totals. Draw engines (Dark Confidant, Black Market Connections, Bolas's Citadel) keep the hand full while the deck pays life freely. The commander can act as a massive draw spell when you have more life than an opponent, or as a one-shot kill when Tainted Remedy is on the battlefield. The deck is not a fast all-in combo; it is a midrange life-control build.
