Commander: Ashling, the Limitless

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Ashling, the Limitless fronts a five-color Elemental value deck. Her static ability gives every Elemental cast from hand an evoke cost of {4}, so expensive Elementals can be played cheaply and then sacrificed for hasty token copies. The primary plan is to convert that sacrifice loop into huge boards via Risen Reef, Avenger of Zendikar, and Omnath, Locus of Rage, while Pyre of Heroes and Descendants' Fury turn sacrifices into searches and chain draws. Horde of Notions acts as a hidden commander in the 99, replaying Elementals from the graveyard. Games typically end with a hasted, pumped attack, often from Maelstrom Wanderer or Cavalier of Flame, after several turns of ETB and landfall accumulation.
