Format: Commander

Commander: Rootha, Mastering the Moment

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Rootha, Mastering the Moment is the token engine of a spells-matter Izzet combo deck. The primary plan is to cast one high-mana-value instant or sorcery before combat, let Rootha create an X/X flying hasted Elemental, then multiply that creature with copy spells and extra combat effects. Secondary paths are Treasure-fueled big X spells, graveyard recursion through Mizzix's Mastery, and mass theft with Insurrection. There is no hidden commander; the deck is built entirely around Rootha's trigger, using cost reducers and two- to seven-mana spells to compress the setup. When Rootha is absent, the deck shifts to a slower tempo/combo plan.
