Deck overview

This deck is a classic mono-black Aristocrats engine commanded by Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker. Shirei turns unassuming creatures with power 1 or less into recurring engines that trigger on every player's end step. The deck's early turns establish mana velocity and deploy low-cost fodder such as Dusk Legion Zealot, Serrated Scorpion, and sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer or Ashnod's Altar. Once Shirei resolves on Turn 5, the deck transitions into a controlling attrition engine on Turn 6, continually looping creatures across all four turns in a table round. This generates overwhelming card advantage, strips opposing boards of creatures through Abyssal Gatekeeper and Grave Pact, and drains life totals via Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat. Because Shirei must remain on the battlefield for dead creatures to return, the deck requires careful timing, protection equipment, and reanimation backup to close the game on Turn 9.
