Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Grixis midrange and reanimator strategy piloted by Sauron, the Dark Lord. It leverages an unusual package of nine Nazgûl to exploit the 'Ring tempts you' mechanic, compounding +1/+1 counters across all Wraiths while continuously amassing Orc Armies whenever opponents cast spells. Sauron provides both an imposing board presence with difficult-to-pay ward protection and a wheel engine that discards spent hands to draw four cards upon Army combat connections. Supported by premium reanimation targets such as Razaketh, the Foulblooded and Terror of the Peaks, alongside game-ending mass recursion from Living Death, the deck transitions smoothly from aggressive early drops to overwhelming late-game card velocity. It backs this clock with efficient countermagic and interaction.
