Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Danitha, Spear of Agony as a Voltron threat fueled by a dense suite of targeted removal spells. By casting spells that target opposing creatures, Danitha systematically clears blockers while accumulating +1/+1 counters. The deck complements this core strategy with high-impact attrition permanents such as Gisa, the Hellraiser, Sheoldred, Whispering One, and Horobi, Death's Wail, turning removal and targeting abilities into devastating board control. Reanimation spells like Victimize and Zombify help reuse key creatures, while Agatha's Soul Cauldron grants activated abilities and counters across the board. However, the deck faces substantial structural limitations. Its card flow is largely restricted to natural draw steps and 1-for-1 trades, leaving it prone to running out of resources. Furthermore, the lack of artifact and enchantment removal leaves the deck unable to contest noncreature engines, and Danitha requires many combat phases to eliminate three opponents one at a time.
