Sauron the Powerful by Ebayan

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Grixis build is an amass/value deck built around Sauron, the Dark Lord. The commander turns opponent spellcasts and Army combat into Orc Army growth and card draw by repeatedly tempting the Ring. The secondary plan is self-mill/reanimation: the Ring's discard-to-draw-four fills the graveyard, and Beacon of Unrest, Dread Return, Port of Karfell, and The War in Heaven return Sauron, Lord of the Rings and other large threats. Saruman, the White Hand amplifies amass for every noncreature spell, while The Great Goblin converts those counter-placing events into direct damage. The hidden commander is Sauron, Lord of the Rings, used as the principal reanimation finisher. The deck wins through a large Army, flying beaters, and repeated reanimation rather than a compact combo.
