Deck overview

This mono-green deck is commanded by Gargos, Vicious Watcher, focusing on high-velocity mana ramp, massive Hydra threats, and board control through targeted fight triggers. In the early game, cheap mana dorks and land ramp accelerate mana production to deploy Gargos by Turn 4. Once on the battlefield, Gargos reduces the cost of all Hydra spells by four generic mana, enabling the deck to cast enormous X-cost Hydras and aggressive stat-doublers ahead of curve. The deck leverages powerhouses like Kalonian Hydra, Railway Brawler, and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus to create overwhelming board states. Single-target spells and targeted protection spells such as Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Tyvar's Stand double as removal by triggering Gargos's fight ability against opposing utility creatures and commanders. The deck closes games around Turn 7 using overwhelming trample damage bolstered by Overwhelming Stampede, Pathbreaker Ibex, or a pumped Finale of Devastation.
