Deck overview

This Izzet deck is a high-variance, big-mana free-cast strategy helmed by Itazura, Lingering Wick. The primary plan is to ramp aggressively with artifacts and rituals like Mana Geyser and High Tide, then resolve game-ending spells such as Expropriate, Time Stretch, or Omniscience to take extra turns and cast massive threats for free. The commander provides a steady trickle of card advantage and occasional free spells via its upkeep trigger, but the deck's real power comes from its deep suite of theft effects (Insurrection, Blatant Thievery), Eldrazi beaters (Emrakul, the Promised End, Ulamog, the Defiler), and chaos enablers like Scrambleverse and Thieves' Auction. Wins are achieved through combat with annihilator creatures, extra-turn loops, or by depleting opponents' resources with Worldfire and then attacking for the final point of damage.
