Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Gruul Stompy build helmed by Xenagos, God of Revels, engineered to accelerate into massive threats and eliminate opponents through overwhelming combat damage. By utilizing a dense suite of 1-to-2 CMC mana dorks like Llanowar Elves, Biophagus, and Gwenna, Eyes of Gaea, the deck reliably deploys Xenagos on Turn 3. On Turn 4, it casts formidable 5-to-6 CMC creatures such as Elder Gargaroth, Railway Brawler, and Ojer Kaslem, Deepest Growth, which Xenagos immediately doubles in power and grants haste for an immediate 10-to-14 damage strike. The deck compounds this offensive pressure through extra combat engines like Karlach, Fury of Avernus, Bloodthirster, and Aggravated Assault, the latter of which forms an infinite combat loop with Old Gnawbone. While the deck features outstanding threat density, high recovery, and resilient commander presence, it remains susceptible to well-timed instant-speed spot removal and possesses minimal reactive interaction against fast noncreature combo decks.
