Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines self-mill, aristocrats sacrifice loops, and high-impact reanimation. Commanded by Liliana the Repentant, the deck mills two cards whenever a creature enters your battlefield, filling the graveyard with reanimation targets and utility creatures. Early turns focus on establishing recursive sacrifice fodder like Reassembling Skeleton and Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia alongside drain payoffs such as Bastion of Remembrance and Ayara, First of Locthwain. In the midgame, the deck leverages potent reanimation spells and asymmetrical hate pieces like Gisa, Glorious Resurrector and Valgavoth, Terror Eater to lock down opposing graveyards and steal creatures. The deck finishes games through cumulative life drain from Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Apprentice, explosive turns with Bolas's Citadel, or mass creature recursion via Rise of the Dark Realms and Awakening Hall.
