Deck overview

This deck is a focused mono-black Aristocrats engine led by Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia. Jadar provides an immediate, low-cost stream of disposable 2/2 decayed Zombie tokens starting on turn 2. The deck leverages this free sacrifice fodder to fuel repeatable card draw engines like Ayara, First of Locthwain, Morbid Opportunist, and Braids, Arisen Nightmare, alongside burst draw like Deadly Dispute and Village Rites. A deep suite of drain permanents, including Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Marionette Apprentice, and Bastion of Remembrance, steadily chips away at opponents' life totals whenever permanents leave the battlefield. Explosive mana producers like Crypt Ghast, Cabal Coffers, and Pitiless Plunderer enable decisive late-game plays with Bolas's Citadel, Living Death, or Gray Merchant of Asphodel. While vulnerable to graveyard exile and light on stack interaction, the deck's high redundancy and strong recursive core provide smooth, resilient mid-game attrition.
