Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Desmond Miles alongside an aggressive suite of Assassin creatures and graveyard synergies. The game plan focuses on deploying cheap Assassins early, casting Desmond on Turn 2, and attacking on Turn 3 to trigger surveil. As Assassins trade off in combat or enter the graveyard through surveil and Buried Alive, Desmond grows rapidly in power. Evasion tools like Cover of Darkness and Brotherhood Regalia ensure combat damage connects, while heavy-hitting payoffs such as Virtus the Veiled, Unstoppable Slasher, and Quietus Spike quickly halve opponent life totals. The deck supports this aggressive clock with highly efficient creature removal and sweepers like Toxic Deluge and Massacre Girl. Because it wins through fair combat steps across three opponents, its finish unfolds over sequential attack steps while graveyard resilience cushions the engine against traditional removal.
