HEL(ga) YEA by BurritoBoy

Format: Commander

Commander: Helga, Skittish Seer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Bant (G/W/U) +1/+1 counter and life-gain midrange strategy commanded by Helga, Skittish Seer. Helga serves as the primary engine: she taps for mana equal to her power (spendable only on creature spells with MV 4+ or X spells), and whenever you cast a creature spell with MV 4+, you draw, gain 1 life, and put a +1/+1 counter on Helga. The game plan is to ramp into Helga, then deploy a steady stream of large creatures-hydras, angels, and Elder Dragons-to trigger Helga's draw and grow her power. The deck accumulates life and +1/+1 counters, then finishes with either a devastating Craterhoof Behemoth alpha strike, a massive Aetherflux Reservoir activation, or overwhelming combat from Koma, World-Eater and Hydra Omnivore. The deck is a value-oriented midrange pile that relies on its commander's mana acceleration to outpace opponents, but it lacks a fast, consistent combo line.
