Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Gruul Voltron and +1/+1 counters strategy centered on Wolverine, Best There Is. Wolverine features a devastating passive ability that doubles all damage he deals, turning modest power increases into lethal commander damage strikes. The deck accelerates in the early turns using efficient ramp like Sol Ring, Utopia Sprawl, and Gruul signets to deploy Wolverine ahead of curve. Once on the battlefield, a dense package of fight spells such as Tail Swipe, Ancient Animus, and Mutant's Prey leverages Wolverine's doubled damage to eliminate opposing utility creatures while triggering his end-step +1/+1 counter growth. Counter multipliers including Hardened Scales, Innkeeper's Talent, and Ozolith, the Shattered Spire rapidly grow Wolverine into a lethal threat. The deck converts this board presence into game-ending pressure via burst power doublers like Berserk and Unleash Fury, or multi-opponent finishers like Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and Chandra's Ignition, closing games reliably by Turn 7.
