Deck overview

Gruul Beasts is a stompy midrange deck built around Slinza, the Spiked Stampede. Because Slinza is itself a Beast, its own cost reduction can put it on the battlefield as early as turn two, after which it acts as a discount engine, an anthem for every other Beast, and a repeatable fight-based removal piece. The game plan is straightforward: ramp, deploy cost-reduced Beasts, draw through Beast-ETB payoffs, and remove blockers with Slinza's optional fight trigger. There are no infinite combos; the finish is a critical-mass combat turn powered by Unnatural Growth, Overwhelming Stampede, Caller of the Pack, or a lieutenant-boosted board from Thunderfoot Baloth. The deck is a classic "big green creatures, plus red removal and trample" plan with a tribal support shell.
