Deck overview

Betor, Ancestor's Voice commands an Abzan reanimator and lifegain midrange deck that turns both life gain and life loss into overwhelming board advantages. The deck uses life loss from fetchlands, shocklands, and spells like Reanimate and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth to meet Betor's end-step reanimation requirements, while converting lifelink combat damage into large quantities of +1/+1 counters. Early turns focus on mana fixing and loading the graveyard through Buried Alive and Survival of the Fittest. By Turn 4 to 5, the deck deploys dominant payoffs such as Archon of Cruelty, Beledros Witherbloom, and Avacyn, Angel of Hope. Games close through massive evasive combat empowered by Akroma's Will or via an infinite life drain combo pairing Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Enduring Tenacity. Flexible spot removal and robust protection ensure high resilience throughout.
