Mono Black Defender/Mill? by user9416152

Format: Commander

Commander: Syr Konrad, the Grim

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built around Syr Konrad, the Grim, turning every creature card that enters or leaves any graveyard into a direct-damage engine. The primary game plan is to assemble one of several efficient infinite-mill combos-Painter's Servant + Grindstone, Bloodchief Ascension + Mindcrank, or Helm of Obedience + Painter's Servant-and then let Syr Konrad's triggered ability or the Ascension loop drain the table. The deck supports this with a dense tutor package (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Diabolic Intent, Sidisi, Undead Vizier) and a robust recursion backbone (Sheoldred, Whispering One, Oversold Cemetery, Animate Dead, Reassembling Skeleton). Secondary paths include massive mana sinks like Exsanguinate and the value engine of Valgavoth, Terror Eater. The commander is a force multiplier but not essential-the combos live entirely in the 99.
