Commander: Marchesa, the Black Rose

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Marchesa, the Black Rose heads a Grixis sacrifice-and-reanimation value deck. The core loop is simple: put a +1/+1 counter on a creature, feed it to a sacrifice outlet, and Marchesa returns it at the next end step, ready to be sacrificed again. The 99 is packed with evasive, counter-friendly beaters - Drana, the Last Bloodchief, Olivia, Crimson Bride, Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni, Braids, Arisen Nightmare - and counter enablers like Unspeakable Symbol, The Ozolith, and Drana, Liberator of Malakir. Sacrifice outlets and sac-draw spells (Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist, Priest of Forgotten Gods, Plumb the Forbidden, Deadly Dispute) convert the endless board into cards, mana, and forced sacrifices. There are no infinite combos; the deck wins through attritional combat with an unkillable board, accelerated by Karlach, Fury of Avernus's extra combat, Fire Lord Azula's on-attack spell copying, and the table drain of The Meathook Massacre. Sneak Attack offers burst access to hasty threats that recur under Marchesa.
