Smaug I own by user2672525

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable is the deck's engine and finisher: the 8/7 indestructible dragon converts noncombat damage into Treasure tokens, then those Treasures are sacrificed while Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, Nadier's Nightblade, and Mayhem Devil drain all opponents. The plan is to ramp to six mana with Treasure producers like Big Score and Talisman, land Smaug on or around turn 5, then use Cut Propulsion or Exploding Barrel to create a lethal Burst of 16-20 Treasures. Smaug, Wicked Worm is a non-commander backup that makes Treasures and draws cards, and Hellkite Tyrant offers an alternate artifact-count win. Secondary lines use evasive Dragons and Exsanguinate to close out.
