Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari aristocrats and lifegain drain deck commanded by Dina, Soul Steeper. The deck focuses on stacking passive lifegain and death triggers from cards like Bastion of Remembrance, Blood Artist, Creeping Bloodsucker, and Starscape Cleric to chip away at all opponents simultaneously whenever creatures enter or die. In the mid-to-late game, high-cost threats such as Beledros Witherbloom, Vein Ripper, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse accelerate life swings and dominate combat. The deck also contains a potent two-card infinite combo between Dina, Soul Steeper and Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror, which instantly drains the entire table upon any instance of life gain or loss. However, running 53 lands without tutors, ramp, or substantial card draw leads to severe mana flood and high top-deck variance. Furthermore, the total lack of protection spells leaves its key permanents and combo pieces vulnerable to removal.
