Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain and group-slug attrition strategy led by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. The primary game plan accelerates Liesa onto the battlefield on Turn 4, leveraging her 5/5 flying lifelink body to build an insurmountable life buffer while imposing an inescapable two-life tax on every spell cast by any player. On Turn 5, the deck deploys complementary drain amplifiers such as Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Kambal, Consul of Allocation, and Indulging Patrician, transforming normal game actions into lethal life loss for opponents. Liesa's unique commander tax ability bypasses mana penalties by paying life instead, allowing the deck to rebuild instantly after board wipes. While the deck contains game-ending combos like Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond or Bloodthirsty Conqueror, it lacks dedicated tutors, relying instead on steady card draw, high permanent redundancy, and continuous life drain to close games by Turn 8.
