The "fair" urza by Dr.Soap

Format: Commander

Commander: Urza, Lord Protector

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Azorius artifact deck is helmed by Urza, Lord Protector, whose primary function is to reduce the cost of artifact, instant, and sorcery spells by one-a powerful enabler for the deck's many artifact synergies. The deck's main game plan is to assemble an infinite mana combo using Basalt Monolith and the activated-ability cost reducer Forensic Gadgeteer, then sink that mana into Walking Ballista to eliminate opponents. A secondary path involves cheated-into-play threats like Blightsteel Colossus via Kuldotha Forgemaster or Arcum Dagsson, and a wide token army generated by Efficient Construction, Simulacrum Synthesizer, and Mirrodin Besieged. The commander's meld ability with The Mightstone and Weakstone provides a late-game planeswalker option, but the deck's core identity is a fast-combo artifact engine with robust tutoring.
