Deck overview

This mono-black Commander deck is built around Sheoldred, the Apocalypse to convert normal game actions into lethal life swings. The deck accelerates into Sheoldred by Turn 3 or 4, then deploys symmetrical draw pieces like Teferi's Puzzle Box and Dark Deal to drain 10 to 14 life per player each turn cycle while buffering its own life total. In addition to continuous draw-punishment, the deck features redundant life-drain combos such as Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Bloodthirsty Conqueror. Symmetrical taxes from Painful Quandary and Polluted Bonds steadily choke opposing resources, while Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast generate big mana to fuel a game-ending Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate. The list prioritizes efficient creature removal and steady card advantage, though its lack of tutors and artifact removal requires careful navigation against fast combo and enchantment-based strategies.
