Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is built around Liesa, Shroud of Dusk, combining asymmetric tax effects, life drain attrition, and lifegain payoffs. The strategy relies on slowing opposing game plans using hatebears and taxing enchantments like Deafening Silence, Blind Obedience, and Drana and Linvala. Meanwhile, Liesa, Shroud of Dusk drains 2 life for every spell cast across the table while gaining life through combat. Low-cost soul sisters and punisher pieces ensure you steadily pull ahead in life total while opponents expend life to interact or advance their boards. The deck closes games via alternate win conditions such as Felidar Sovereign and Angel of Destiny, or through sustained life-drain engines like Painful Quandary and Polluted Bonds. With resilient commander recast mechanics and robust removal suites, the deck excels at grinding out multiplayer pods.
