Deck overview

This is a mono-red Equipment/Voltron deck helmed by Thorin, Mountain-king, built around a unique and explosive damage engine. The primary plan is to cast Thorin, attach a critical mass of Equipment to him (or another creature), and use his ETB trigger to deal damage equal to that creature's power to a target - often the creature itself, which is made indestructible or protected so it survives, or redirected via cards like Fiendlash. The deck then leverages extra combat phases from Great Train Heist and Overpowering Attack to chain multiple Thorin ETB triggers in a single turn, each one dealing massive damage. Secondary win conditions include straightforward combat damage from a huge equipped creature, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Gratuitous Violence doubling noncombat damage, and Vincent, Vengeful Atoner's chaos trigger spreading damage across the table.
