Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Control and Combo strategy helmed by Talion, the Kindly Lord. The game plan revolves around deploying Talion early—typically naming mana value two—to exploit opponents' most common spells, translating their game actions into steady card advantage and incidental life drain. Backed by explosive fast mana such as Mana Crypt, Chrome Mox, and Dark Ritual, the deck accelerates its mana development while keeping up cheap interaction. It digs aggressively through its library using card engines like Mystic Remora, Necropotence, and Talion's triggers to assemble its primary win condition: Thassa's Oracle combined with Demonic Consultation. This combination creates a compact, instant-speed win on Turn 4 that bypasses combat and traditional board states. As backup routes, the deck features the infinite life-drain combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond, alongside potent disruption like Notion Thief with Windfall to strip opponent resources.
