Deck overview

This Rakdos deck turns opponent resources into your greatest asset by gifting artifacts and punishing their presence. Piloted by Smaug, Wicked Worm, the strategy encourages opponents to accumulate artifacts through cards like Curse of Opulence, Generous Plunderer, and Genesis Chamber. When Smaug enters the battlefield, he hoards a massive stockpile of Treasure tokens scaled to your opponents' boards. Smaug then converts those Treasures into velocity by drawing cards whenever Treasure mana pays for spells. The deck translates this card and mana advantage into decisive table-wide damage using aristocrat payoffs like Mayhem Devil, Mirkwood Bats, and Havoc Jester, or wins outright with Hellkite Tyrant. While the deck operates on a dependable mid-game clock, it trades high-speed protection for synergistic board pressure and political gift dynamics.
