Deck overview

This Esper deck uses Y'shtola, Night's Blessed to convert noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater into table-wide life drain and steady card advantage. The deck accelerates through standard 2-mana artifacts into its commander, then sequences mid-cost interactive spells, token generators, and legendary payoffs. Rather than relying on infinite combos, it steadily wears down opposing life totals using burn triggers from Y'shtola and Papalymo Totolymo, wide token boards from Hermes, Overseer of Elpis and Champions from Beyond, and burst advantage from Bolas's Citadel. A robust interaction suite of uncounterable removal, efficient creature exile, and board sweepers keeps opponents from executing faster plans while the deck builds an insurmountable life total advantage and closes the game around Turn 8.
