Commander: The Ur-Dragon

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a five-color Dragon-tribal battlecruiser helmed by The Ur-Dragon. The game plan is straightforward: accelerate with land-tutor ramp and cost reduction, deploy the commander, then bury the table under a swarm of huge flying Dragons. The Ur-Dragon's Eminence ability discounts every other Dragon spell by {1} from the command zone, while his battlefield attack trigger draws a card per attacking Dragon and freely puts a permanent from hand onto the battlefield. Redundant reducers (Dragonlord's Servant, Dragonspeaker Shaman, Herald's Horn, Urza's Incubator) and ramp like Cultivate, Skyshroud Claim, and Sol Ring let the deck chain 6-7 mana Dragons turns early. Wins come almost entirely from combat: Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm doubles Dragon entries, Utvara Hellkite and Lathliss, Dragon Queen produce tokens, and Atarka, World Render grants double strike. Tiamat and Sarkhan's Triumph provide the deck's only real search. There are no true infinite combos - the deck wins through overwhelming, inevitable flying beatdown.
