Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai X-spells and +1/+1 counter midrange strategy commanded by Zaxara, the Exemplary. The primary game plan revolves around accelerating mana early to cast Zaxara on Turn 3, untapping on Turn 4 to begin chaining powerful X-cost spells that generate massive Hydra tokens alongside their primary spell effects. Counter multipliers such as Unbound Flourishing, Corpsejack Menace, and The Earth Crystal rapidly inflate creature sizes into lethal threats. Global evasion provided by Garruk's Uprising and Zegana, Utopian Speaker ensures that ground blockers cannot stem the assault, while scalable removal like Curse of the Swine and asymmetric wipes like Wave Goodbye clear paths for lethal combat steps. Without infinite combo packages, the deck relies on overwhelming board presence and large life-drain spells like Exsanguinate to close games by Turn 8.
