Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Blue Merfolk Spellslinger Tempo build commanded by Namor the Sub-Mariner. The strategy revolves around casting cheap blue noncreature spells to trigger Namor's ability, flooding the board with 1/1 Merfolk tokens that simultaneously fuel Namor's flying power. Tribal lords such as Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident grant Islandwalk to your swarm, which is guaranteed against nonbasic-heavy manabases by Harbinger of the Seas. The deck sustains its velocity through combat-damage draw engines like Coastal Piracy and mass refill spells such as Distant Melody and Harmonized Crescendo. A deep suite of efficient countermagic, including free spells like Force of Negation and Flare of Denial, protects your board while triggering Namor on opponents' turns. The deck steadily dismantles life totals across Turns 6 through 8 through unblockable combat damage.
