Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Dimir Horror tribal deck commanded by Captain N'ghathrod. Its strategy revolves around assembling low-to-mid cost Horrors and mill pieces, casting the commander on Turn 5, and using evasive menace attacks to mill opposing libraries. At the end of each turn, Captain N'ghathrod reanimates the best milled creature or artifact, converting mill into immediate board presence and tempo advantage. Supported by high-end standalone beaters such as Consuming Aberration, The Mindskinner, and The Weaver King, the deck transitions into lethal combat damage across Turns 7–8, optionally closing games through mass graveyard recursion with Rise of the Dark Realms. While vulnerable to graveyard hate and creature board wipes, the deck maintains consistent card flow and threatening board states throughout the midgame.
