Deck overview

This Boros midrange deck is commanded by Hofri Ghostforge and centers on an aggressive aristocrats strategy that weaponizes temporary theft spells. By casting Threaten variants like Claim the Firstborn, Besmirch, Mass Mutiny, and Mob Rule, the deck borrows opposing creatures, attacks with them, and feeds them to sacrifice outlets such as Goblin Bombardment or Phyrexian Altar. Because Hofri triggers whenever a nontoken creature you control dies regardless of original ownership, it exiles the stolen creature and creates a permanent Spirit copy under your control with +1/+1, trample, and haste. The deck backs up this attrition engine with damage multipliers like Terror of the Peaks and Purphoros, God of the Forge, extra combat steps from Combat Celebrant and Karlach, Fury of Avernus, and resilient self-sacrificing protection creatures. The result is a proactive, disruptive combat deck that systematically strips opponents of their best threats while constructing a lethal airborne and trampling spirit army.
