Deck overview

This mono-white deck executes an evasive combat strategy centered around low-cost Bird creatures, +1/+1 counters, and mass anthem effects. Early turns are dedicated to establishing small flyers like Battlefield Raptor, Shrike Force, and Healer's Hawk. In the mid-to-late game, the deck pivots toward scaling its board presence using power-boosting payoffs like Steel-Plume Marshal, Skyboon Evangelist, and For the Emperor!. While the deck features strong resilience against destruction through spells like Unbreakable Formation and Surge of Salvation, its overall speed and consistency are significantly throttled by an unusually low land count of 30 lands and an absence of artifact mana acceleration or reliable card advantage engines. Furthermore, Mavinda, Students' Advocate operates primarily as an evasive body rather than an engine, as the 99 contains virtually no self-targeting instants or sorceries to utilize its recursion ability effectively.
