Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy mono-black reanimator and aristocrats build engineered around Balthor the Defiled. The primary strategy focuses on stocking the graveyard with game-ending black creatures using targeted entomb effects such as Buried Alive and repeatable self-mill enablers like Cryptbreaker and Stitcher's Supplier. Once the graveyard is primed, Balthor the Defiled serves as an accessible mass reanimation engine in the command zone, returning every black creature simultaneously for {B}{B}{B}. The mass influx of ETB triggers—led by Gray Merchant of Asphodel and backed by Noxious Ghoul board clears—combines with aristocrat sacrifice engines like Syr Konrad, the Grim, Vengeful Dead, and Phyrexian Altar to drain all three opponents from full health on the turn of reanimation.
