Format: Commander

Commander: Derevi, Empyrial Tactician

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Bant control deck leverages Derevi, Empyrial Tactician to execute a stax and tap-untap strategy. By combining symmetric lock pieces like Winter Orb, Static Orb, and Stasis with combat untap engines, the deck strangles opponent mana while maintaining your own resource flow. Derevi's activated ability bypasses the command tax and enables instant-speed board manipulation, letting combat damage triggers break parity across every turn. Once opponents are paralyzed under heavy tax and tap effects, the deck closes the game through overwhelming token generators like Koma, Cosmos Serpent, Tendershoot Dryad, and Wolverine Riders, amplified by anthems such as Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite.
