Deck overview

This Bant midrange deck is commanded by Kellan, the Kid, focusing on extracting massive mana and card tempo by casting spells from outside the hand. Utilizing diverse mechanics such as Foretell, Plot, Airbend, Adventure, Cascade, and top-of-library manipulation, the deck repeatedly triggers Kellan to cheat permanent cards directly into play without paying their mana costs. Dense 1-2 CMC ramp ensures Kellan enters early on Turn 3 and begins generating free permanent drops by Turn 4. Standalone engines such as Vega, the Watcher, Chulane, Teller of Tales, and Ranar the Ever-Watchful compound this advantage, leading into devastating mid-game bombs like Apex Devastator and One with the Multiverse. The deck protects its strategy with a versatile suite of low-cost countermagic, targeted removal, and board protection like Cosmic Intervention. It closes games through overwhelming, resilient creature combat over two combat rotations.
