Led by Zurgo Stormrender, this Mardu deck merges aggressive creature combat with aristocrat life drain and card velocity. The strategy centers around the mobilize mechanic, which creates tapped and attacking Warrior creature tokens upon declaring attacks. Zurgo provides modular value: if attacking tokens leave the battlefield during combat, you draw cards; when mobilize tokens are sacrificed at the end of the turn outside of combat, Zurgo drains each opponent for 1 life. The 99 amplifies this engine using token multipliers like Anointed Procession and Elspeth, Storm Slayer, combat burn from Ingris Stingerquill, and traditional drain pieces like Bastion of Remembrance and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim.
