Deck overview

This deck is a Selesnya midrange engine that uses Torsten, Founder of Benalia as a massive hand-refill and board-in-a-can centerpiece. The game plan opens with dense low-cost mana dorks and land-fetch creatures to accelerate into Torsten on Turn 4 or 5. Upon entering the battlefield, Torsten digs seven cards deep, restocking the hand with an average of five to six creature and land cards. Reusable flicker effects like Teleportation Circle and Emiel the Blessed repeatedly trigger this ability, while sacrifice outlets and board wipes convert Torsten into an army of seven 1/1 Soldier tokens. The deck converts this overwhelming permanent advantage into victory on Turn 6 or 7 by deploying decisive overrun finishers, notably Craterhoof Behemoth, Moonshaker Cavalry, and Avenger of Zendikar. While the list features minimal instant-speed interaction and no dedicated creature tutors, its sheer redundancy and resilient recovery make it an imposing combat presence.
