Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Rakdos Combat Aristocrats build commanded by Ares, God of War. The strategy blends combat pressure with aristocrat sacrifice engines. By attacking with high-power, self-sacrificing creatures like Lightning Skelemental and Ball Lightning, the deck exploits Ares ability to return dying attackers back to hand. Sacrifice outlets like Phyrexian Altar, Warren Soultrader, and Goblin Bombardment convert combat trades into mana, damage, and card flow, which is compounded by death-trigger engines like Blood Artist, Mayhem Devil, and Skullclamp. The deck reliably assembles its core combat loop on Turn 4 and reaches critical onset on Turn 5, stripping opponent resources while dealing heavy trample and burn damage. With minimal hard tutoring, the deck relies on dense functional redundancy and massive card draw to close games by Turn 7 through combat and machine-gun life drain, while maintaining resilience through commander-independent aristocrat backup routes.
