Ral, Monsoon Mage by Trevor

Format: Commander

Commander: Ral, Monsoon Mage // Ral, Leyline Prodigy

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a red-blue spellslinger storm deck built around Ral, Monsoon Mage's cost reduction. The primary plan is to deploy Ral early, use free/cheap cantrips and rituals to build mana and storm count, then kill with Grapeshot, Brain Freeze, or Ral, Storm Conduit triggers. Secondary paths include Underworld Breach/Past in Flames recursion and an infinite Dualcaster Mage token loop. The commander's front face is the main engine; the Leyline Prodigy back face adds card draw and reach after enough spells. Gandalf, Goblins' Bane // Flameshape acts as a hidden commander, providing a second burn engine and card advantage. The deck is fast but fragile, with no permanent removal for nonblue hate and no protection for its commander.
