Deck overview

This deck is an Esper combo-control deck built on a competitive cEDH chassis. While The Ur-Sphinx sits in the command zone providing a high-end tribal discount, the deck's primary route to victory is the compact two-card combination of Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact. Supported by format-ceiling fast mana, including Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond, Sol Ring, and Dark Ritual, the deck accelerates mana development to assemble its win as early as Turn 3. An elite tutor suite guarantees consistent access to both combo pieces and protective interaction like Silence, Grand Abolisher, and Ranger-Captain of Eos. Defensively, the list runs a dense suite of free and efficient counterspells alongside asymmetric stax pieces like Drannith Magistrate and Opposition Agent. If the primary combo is disrupted, draw engines like The One Ring, Necropotence, and Consecrated Sphinx fuel a resilient midrange plan capable of closing the game through Sphinx beatdown.
