Deck overview

This mono-black control deck is commanded by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, focusing on crushing resource denial, continuous hand stripping, and inexorable life drain. The deck develops mana on curve before deploying Sheoldred on Turn 4 to punish opposing card draw and buffer its own life total. It pivots immediately on Turn 5 into symmetric and asymmetric discard engines such as Dark Deal, Oppression, Waste Not, and Painful Quandary, draining significant life while emptying opposing hands. Opponents are locked into top-deck mode while suffering steady passive damage each turn. The deck then converts its massive mana doublers—such as Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nirkana Revenant—into game-ending sorceries like Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate, or closes the table through the infinite Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond life-drain loop.
