Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black control strategy centered around Horobi, Death's Wail, turning trivial targeting effects into instant-speed creature destruction. By utilizing otherwise minor artifacts and lands like Squee's Toy, Tower of Coireall, Distorting Lens, and Maze of Ith, the deck establishes a repeatable, low-cost removal engine that suppresses opposing creature boards. Multi-target effects like Cauldron of Souls and Touch of Darkness act as one-sided board wipes. The deck capitalizes on mass creature mortality through heavy payoff engines including Revel in Riches, Gisa, Glorious Resurrector, Grave Betrayal, Massacre Wurm, and Syr Konrad, the Grim. Anti-protection pieces like Nowhere to Run, Glaring Spotlight, and Arcane Lighthouse ensure opponents cannot hide behind hexproof or ward. While exceptionally lethal against creature-heavy metas, the deck is constrained by Horobi's symmetrical fragility, a lack of generic tutors, and limited interaction against non-creature spells.
