Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Azorius Stax control list piloted by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. It aims to choke opposing mana development and spell velocity through layered taxation, untap constraints, and cast limits. The deck breaks parity by using 2-CMC mana rocks and the commander's asymmetric cost-reduction ability. Once opponents are constrained by pieces like Winter Orb, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, and Archon of Emeria, the deck transitions into a game-ending state. Its primary win condition is establishing a hard lock with Knowledge Pool combined with Drannith Magistrate or Teferi, Time Raveler, completely barring opponents from casting spells. Secondary win conditions include the Rest in Peace plus Helm of Obedience exile combo and Approach of the Second Sun.
