Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Food and Aristocrats engine commanded by Ygra, Eater of All. Ygra turns every other creature on the battlefield into a Food artifact. This ability transforms all creature deaths into +1/+1 counters for Ygra and triggers broad Food synergies. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with efficient mana dorks and land-search sorceries. It deploys token generators like Chatterfang, Squirrel General, Camellia, the Seedmiser, and Experimental Confectioner before casting Ygra on turn 4 or 5. Once assembled, the deck creates a formidable clock on turn 6. It drains opponents with Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Blood Artist while attacking with a massive commander. Protection spells like Heroic Intervention and Ygra's built-in Ward ability keep key pieces safe. Without nonland tutors, the deck relies on high redundancy and steady card draw to close games around turn 8.
