Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Simic Merfolk tribal deck built around Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca, converting an ever-growing pile of tapped Merfolk into card draw, unblockability, and +1/+1 counters. The plan is classic go-wide: deploy cheap Merfolk, generate hexproof tokens with Deeproot Waters and Deeproot Pilgrimage, then reuse the same creatures multiple times through untap effects like Quest for Renewal, Intruder Alarm, Merrow Reejerey, and Unstoppable Plan. Kumena acts as the payoff that turns all that tapping into cards and a looming army. The deck wins primarily via a critical-mass combat step, using Herald of Secret Streams or Deepchannel Mentor to make the board unblockable and Triumph of the Hordes, Overrun, or Return of the Wildspeaker to blow through life totals. Secondary engine wins come from Intruder Alarm loops and explosive mana turns fueled by Mona Lisa, Science Geek and station lands like Evendo, Waking Haven.
