Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Lands Midrange strategy commanded by The Gitrog Monster. The primary game plan revolves around leveraging Gitrog's additional land drop and draw triggers alongside free discard outlets and land sacrifice mechanics. Early turns focus on accelerating mana via cards like Exploration, Sakura-Tribe Elder, and Rampant Growth to deploy the commander on Turn 4. Once established, the deck rapidly cycles through cards using dredge engines like Life from the Loam and sacrifice effects. In the mid-to-late game, mass land recursion spells such as Splendid Reclamation, Lumra, Bellow of the Woods, and Aftermath Analyst generate massive mana surpluses and trigger devastating landfall payoffs. Lethal closeouts are achieved around Turn 7 through overwhelming token armies from Titania, Protector of Argoth and Craterhoof Behemoth, a massive Torment of Hailfire, or flinging a gigantic Lord of Extinction with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord.
